Big Brown and Belmont

1978 was the last time a thoroughbred won the Triple Crown of racing and the horse that won it was the great Affirmed.

On June 7, Big Brown will attempt to win the Triple Crown. He has been very impressive in winning the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. But Big Brown suffered a bit of a setback, suffering a quarter crack in his left front hoof. It's not a serious injury and Big Brown worked well on Tuesday morning.

The 1 1/2 mile Belmont will be the most grueling of the three Triple Crown races and Big Brown will face a huge challenge from Casino Drive and Denis of Cork among others.

But Big Brown hasn't been pushed to the limit in either of the first two Triple Crown racesa and that probably helped him save a great deal of energy for the Belmont.

Big Brown is the horse to beat on June 7, stay tuned for more info on the race, but what are your thoughts on Big Brown's quest for the Triple Crown.
