A key source has told me that San Jose State assistant Kent Baer is someone to keep an eye for in the head coaching job.
Baer has plenty of experience at the collegiate level. He's currently at San Jose State as the linebackers coach. But he's been defensive coordinator at Notre Dame, Stanford, Califorina and Arizona St.
Baer was up for the NMSU job in 2004 when Hal Mumme got the job. Mumme was fired on Tuesday after going 11-38 in four years.
