It was learned Wednesday that Las Cruces High softball coach Rodney Pollard had tendered his resignation. The LCHS program seemed to improve while he was the head coach, especially the last two years.
It seemed as if some thought the program had grown stagnant. It's tough to say but the fact is that the program won a lot of games the past two years and did well in the state playoffs. Had the Bulldawgs won one more game this year, would it be different?
Well, Pollard did a decent job and he'll be missed. But whoever the new coach is has plenty of talent returning next season.

paz will be if she has it her way she has been the head force to get pollard out. mark my words keep an eye out for her name. Now here is some other scoop a head job will be opening up at the other two schools.
Word has it that the Mayfield and Onaye track coaches are out as well. Any one else hear any different?
word has it mayfield track and softball will open as well as onate softball, track there dont know.
Onate track Coach Nunez has done a great job. Hard to beleive he would be gone. State football championships translate into good track teams... not seeing that at Mayfield
Onate basketball coach (Ortega) is gone...
He resigned yesterday.
Tough loss for Onate.. he did a good job. Could not get his family u down to Las Cruces. Word is taht Harper from Montwood will get the job as he and the Onate principal are great buddies from El Paso. Two Harpers in one district... God forbid
jobs that will open onate baskeball coach, softball coach. Mayfield track coach, softball coach, golf coach. Lchs softball coach. All of these postions are head coaching jobs.
The Harpers win, you foolish people. Tony would be a great choice if he makes up his mind to take on a new challenge.
Too bad the lchs baseball job isn't open. Talk about a program that is stagnant.
So I wonder what the thought is now that Garcia was given the Las Cruces Softball coaching position, had nothing to do with Paz she loves the players at Mayfield, she really should be head coach!
