Jim Bradley, Henry Carrillo

The word on the street is that Jim Bradley Sr. will be the offensive coordinator at Mayfield, replacing his departed son Gary Bradley, who took the head coaching job at Farmington.

Also being talked about is the return of Henry Carrillo to the Mayfield staff. Carrillo went to Cantuillo, Texas, this past year. He's a longtime New Mexico coach and very good at what he does.

Nothing official yet, but those announcements could come soon.

Henry Carrillo pulled a fast one on Onate. After he had given his word he was going there to become Onate's new defensive coordinator. I guess he figured since he wasn't going to be the head coach of Onate he'd make up some lame excuse and back out. That was the reason he left the Mayfield football program the first time. He thought he should have gotten the Mayfield job instead of Mike Bradley. And that was told to me by Mike Bradley himself. That just shows the kind of character he has. Truly a man of his word. Yea he belongs at Mayfield with the Bradleys. They couldn't stand him when he was there. And he couldn't stand being there as just an assistant. Funny how all thats forgotten now. Go back Henry to being a puppet again. And i always thought you were better than that. Wrong!

Coach Carrillo would go back to Mayfield after all was said about him by the Bradleys. And to become an assistant coach again and not the OC. What a slap in the face. And to think he could have been the DC at Onate where he could have made a difference in that program. What a shame.

DUDE,(Henry Carrillo) pull your head out. Your to good a coach to go back to the Bradley regime and be a grunt for them. From what i hear about you, is you've never taken a back seat to anyone. Why start now. Have some pride man!

Jim Bradley as OC?

It's almost like he never left(sarcasm).

As for Carillo... what goes around comes around, he'll get what he deserves.

Jeff Johnson will do fine at Onate as DC.

Not so fast my friend. Onate has not named a Defensive coordinator yet. So the door is still open for Henry Carrillo. That is if he hasn't already sold his soul to the Bradleys. The door is still open for him or any other prospect for that matter.

A friend of mine told me that Jim Hite the new coach at Gadsden could have been the Defensive Coordinator at Onate. But that Coach Mckee had already given his word to Henry Carrillo about the Job. Although he would have like Coach Hite on his staff. He thought he would do the right thing and stand by his word. Blacklash, Coach Hite goes to Gadsden and Carrillo puts the chingas to Onate. Coach Carrillo a man's only as good as his word.

Unfortunately for coach McKee, he is a stand up guy in a back-stabbing world.

Carillo may be a good coach, but obviously not a man of much character if all this is true...

Sounds like a bunch of sour grapes. This bickering is what is wrong about Las Cruces in general. This town is becoming a town that worries more about what everybody else is doing than taking care of your own buisness.

Sounds to me like your a Mayfield fan. If you think what Carrillo did was right. Your probably a Bradley.

Hard to take care of your own business when you get the rug pulled from under you when you think you have a committment.

If all is true here there is a lack of character showing in both Carillo and the Bradleys.

Onate may be better off for it, although Hite would have been a good hire for Onate.

No sour grapes, just think people should be straight up and honor their words.

Everyone that has something negative to say about Carrillo must truly not know him, he is in coaching because of the kids. He would be a great asset to which ever team he coach's.

Carrillo coaching for the kids has never been questioned. He's a good coach no doubt. But something has to be said for him not following through on his word to Onate. He would have been much more respected on the Onate staff than he ever will be at Mayfield. Coach Mckee was giving him the keys to the defense. It was his to do with as he pleased. He will never get that kind of freedom to run his own thing at Mayfield.

Coach Carillo is a very good coach. I feel the same way about his character. Coach Mckee is a man of good character. This is something the other two coaches in this city can learn from him. If coach Carillo does not end up going to Onate it is probably for the best because Onate does not need more controversy in their program. I feel Carillo can bring this to the program because in the end he will probably back stab and try to slide in for the head position. He is a good coach but not a great coach how many state titles does he have as a head coach. I know for a fact Mckee has a state title as well as consistently making the playoffs every year with less talent than Cruces and Mayfield. When they did have the same talent they beat Cruces and made the semi-finals of the state tournament. Mckee is resiliant and the team is a team that will surprise this coming football season their is no need for Carillo!!!!

You Onate fans are crying about "back stabbing" but really do not know the situation or the man himself! Carrillo is a great coach who won with way less tallent, more consistently than Mckee ever will. Onate shouldn't even have been in the class that they won state in the year they did win state. It would have been back stabbing to the Mayfield community had he gone to Onate. Stop crying about Coach Carrillo and start worrying about what excuses you are gonna start making when Mckee doesn't get the job done again this year!

Ok Mayfield fan. It seems you don't get it. No one is crying. Hell the way he backstabbed Onate they are better off without him. Mike Bradley never cared about Carrillo when he was there. And Carrillo knows that. Mike went after him because he is desperate for coaches and does not want any coach who has been a part of the Mayfield program to go anywhere in this city. Plus here's another one for you if you think Carrillo's going to stick around for the long haul your wrong. Believe me when the new school is openned he's going to be the first one to apply. That's his nature. He has an ego as big as the Bradleys. Ok not that big but he is a snake waiting to make his move. The Bradleys will use him once again and this time he will use them as well. Ask him why he left the first time. He stuck around to coach baseball. Mike Bradley pulled the biggest con job on him even more so than what Carrillo did to Onate.

Now the person who posted that Onate was crying. Wouldn't happen to be related to Henry Carrillo. Because it sures sounds like something his idiot brother in law or worst yet his flaky sister in law would say. I wouldn't doubt it if they've been holding prayer vigils to get Mckee fired. They all have wanted Henry Carrillo to replace coach Mckee for as long as anyone can remember. It's a surprise Henry didn't take the job. So that way he could work his way into the head posistion at Onate because you know that's what he's been after.

Hey Anon 5:36 AM
Nobody's crying about any of this. It's just wonderment about how someone would do that...
McKee may not have the record of the Bradleys, but he is a man of character.
Unlike the Bradleys.

I heard that it is not so much that Carrilo is going back for football or the bradley's but that the administration has asked that he come back in some kind of capacity for the basball program, that he supposedly revitalized?

Anonymous said...

Carrillo is not doing anything any other coach in this city would do so quit whining.

Anonymous said...

No those Mayfield coaches that left. All gave their word and stuck with it. Unlike Carrillo

Wow - Carillo back at Mayfield. Can he mess up the football program as much as he did the baseball? Coach Bradley - what are you thinking????

Anonymous said...

Mess up the baseball program? You must be one of those Baseball Academy groupies. Mayfield's success last year was off of what went through Carillo's tenure. If two coaches are asking him to come to their program, that must mean he's pretty good coach. Your ignorant comment must mean that you are a disgruntled parent who's kid got cut by Carillo at some point.

Anonymous said...

Actually no - my kid didn't play baseball. My thoughts are based solely on experience on the outside of the program.

Ease up people coachs are hard to come by if you think you can do a better job why don't you apply. It is just easier being an arm chair coach quit complaining he has the right to choose where he is going to coach.
