Earlier this week I provided a glimpse of the Mayfield High Trojans baseball team for the 2009 season.
I am including information on teams around the state. Here is a look at perennial contender Eldorado High School out of Albuququerque.
The Eagles went 21-10 a season ago and 10-2 in their district. The Eagles advanced to the 5A semifinals, losing to eventual champion La Cueva. Head coach Jim Johns usually has a good team on his hands and this year should be no different.
Eldorado returns three starters, catcher Orrin Sears, first baseman Ryan King and pitcher/outfielder Sam Wilson. Johns will lean on newcomers Kyle Davis (3B/P), Armin Day (SS), Bobby Blackstone (2B), Nick Schnedar (OF) and Patrick Roney (P).
Eldorado has won six state titles under John and finished second three others times.
