I had reported on my blog earlier that Las Cruces High assistant coach William Benjamin might not be interested in the head basketball job at Onate, which was vacated last month.
But it appears that Benjamin is interested. The former Aggie basketball player, who played in 123 carer games at NMSU, has been a longtime assistant coach at Las Cruces High and is ready for a top job.
He is a solid coach and he's been a key cog in helping develop many of the Bulldawgs players.

The only problem Benjamin has is that he has worked for Coach Smith, and that is going to hurt him. He will have to bring his skills from his playing days, cause he sure hasn't learned much from Coach Smith.
