According to a sound source, it appears former Sandia High School Adrian Ortega has been named the new boys basketball coach at Onate High School, replacing Richard Robinson.
It appears all that needs to be done is some administrative work and Ortega could be officially announced as soon as Monday.

Yea, lets wish him luck with del toro. He seems to be running off everyone.
only the ones that dont want to work!
And the ones who get set up by other coaches in the district, and get no backing from their own administrators.
I'm guessing coaches who are winning (Reyes, Covarrubia) aren't having trouble...
Strong athletics will lead to strong academics. As a parent, I don't have a problem with where he's trying to take the school.
I just hope that Coach Ortega understands and buys in to what he's getting into.
if you got set up its your fault after all you let yourself get set up. that was a foolish thing.
real men of genius we salute you beer drinking coaches of the gridiron. This buds for you.
Anyway...
Congratulations to Onate and to Coach Ortega.
The north is trying to hire southern football coaches, so here in the south we'll hire northern basketball coaches.
The word is everyone is having trouble, yes, even the winning coaches. You must not be informed. Didn't they just loose an assistant principal to Mayfield?
By the way, i loved the real men of genius. Great
don't worry about del toro. Do your job, be there for the students and things have a way of working themselves out. Congrats to Coach Ortega he is coming in to a great school.
From someone who works at OHS I say this, look past the PR stuff he has done. Our scores were great the year before he was here. They tanked this last year. I agree some teachers needed to go. However we lost the ones who were smart to get off a sinking ship not the ones who need to go. He has given no programs to further ayp. Don't get caught in the hype read the numbers
