According to a dependable source, former Sandia High School boys basketball coach Adrian Ortega will interview for the vacant Onate High boys basketball job on Wednesday. Sandia High School is located in Albuquerque.
Earlier I learned that former New Mexico State assistant coach Greg Berry will interview Tuesday.
Up to seven candidates are up for the job, which was opened when Richard Robinson stepped down last month after 13 years on the job.

Onate needs somebody from out of town and with head coaching experience. Coach Ortega would probably be a good choice for the Knights.
Why out of town? The grass is always greener? That's silly.
I still think Abney is the one they ought to choose.
Local guy that knows the kids, head coaching experience, good discipline yet good rapport with the kids...
I know the players respect him and would play their hearts out for him.
Mr. Chavez,
Please include the "ñ" when spelling our high school's name, "Oñate".
Thank you,
The Knights
That's what wrong with you all, you worry about all the wrong things. The Trojans
Like syntax, spelling, and academics overall?
Maybe you should try it. It will serve you better in life after high school.
