Onate High School junior linebacker Zach Daugherty is drawing interest from schools for his future services. Apparently Duke has asked him to make an unofficial visit and San Diego State has also shown some interest.

What about the Aggies??
I know he's still has year to go but, it's a fair question.
What about NMSU?
Being close to the situation, I can tell you this: NMSU hasn't sent him anything thus far.
Well let him prove himself this year. He still has to mature as a player. Then see if NMSU comes calling. As of right now he hasn't done anything to warrant their attention but he does have a lot of upside to him. If he can put it all together this year. Remains to be seen. I hope he does.
An ACC school has contacted him, so while NMSU waits for him to mature, they will lose him too. No shock there.
I've watched all the local kids a lot in the last few years, and I have to say that this kid is definitely a good one. That he still has a year left in HS I think bodes well for him.
And if an ACC school is already on him, I'm thinking that NMSU may miss out on yet another local product...
Oh, and UNM is now on him.
The Lobos actually recruit the in-state kids, the Aggies don't and never really have... They go with what's leftover from out of state.
It's interesting how the Lobos have been beating the Aggies with our own kids for a long time.
SOMEHOW WE DON'T GET IT DOWN HERE!
