Gadsden has new football coach

The Gadsden Panthers have hired Jim Hite as their new football coach. Hite has coached for 36 years in Colorado, Texas and New Mexico.
He served as an assistant coach this year at Mayfield High School.
Hite replaces Jeff Johnson, who left after two years to be an assistant coach at OƱate High School. See more in Sunday's Las Cruces Sun-News

Coach Hite will be missed. But I am excited to see what he does with Gadsden.

Mayfield loses a very good coach in Jim Hite. That makes two varsity coaches and one freshman coach that have left this year. Whats going on that these coaches would want to leave?

What is going on at Mayfield? They are winning State Championships and every other school in the state of New Mexico wants a piece of what they have. They want to build a championship program, and the only way to do that is to hire a coach who knows what they are doing. Unfortunately, Gadsden did NOT choose wisely. Hite will be gone in one year.
