Unbeaten Las Cruces junior middleweight Austin Trout will face his biggest challenge to date on Dec. 21 on a Top Rank promoted card here in Las Cruces.
The 12-0 Trout will meet 15-5-1 middleweight Erik Esquivel. Esquivel has some power with 12 knockouts to his credit. He is the former Mexican middleweight champ and lost to 36-4-1 Marco Antonio Rubio in March. He has fought just once in the United States back in April of 2005 when he lost to Gabriel Holguin by split decision.
