Mayfield and Clovis football end rivarly

The Mayfield Trojans and Clovis Wildcats, who have two of the best football programs in the state of New Mexico, are ending their regular season rivalry. The two teams have faced each other since the 2001 season. The Trojans beat Clovis 49-48 in double overtime on Dec. 7 for the 5A state title.

Clovis will be replaced on the schedule by El Paso Chapin. One of the coaches on the Chapin staff is Jim Bradley Jr., son of former MHS coach Jim Bradley and brother of current MHS coach Michael Bradley.
