Speaking of Mayfield, its been 24 hours since they played a twinbill in Anthony and nowhere can I find out the results.

Mayfield had a single game with Gadsden on Tuesday and won 9 - 0. Diego Rodriguez pitched and got the win and JD Ordunez hit a solo shot for MHS. MHS JV team won 12 - 1 as well.

Can anyone tell me WHY Mayfield's baseball team is losing all it's players? Rumor has it that 2 seniors have already quit as a result of the coach and his coaching techniques or lack thereof... Probably why other outstanding athletes haven't bothered to participate on the team in as many years...

Mayfield coaching has changed. Gomez has fell into the booster club coaching category. Instead of doin what is better for the team he tries to please parents and boosters. As a former player for both Carillo and Gomez its easy to say Mayfield was better off when Gomez was just a pitching coach

i am a former MHS baseball player i played under gomez. i am not sure there is very much coaching skill at all. the reason MHS isnt winning anymore is because they havent developed any talent in the past few years. nobody questioned the coaching last year because the players carried the team by raw talent and experience. MHS had enough experienced seniors to fill the entire field. the coaching has failed to develope the younger players now, the talent is there. how are players going to compete at the next level at college if nobody developes them. on another note anybody else noticed most coaches have been fathers to starting players. not only that but some coaches are not around now that there sons are no longer playing.

There is nothing more to say about Gadsden’s 2009 baseball season other than we need a new coach or at least a new pitcher. Fabian Nevarez does not have what it takes on the mound other than Coach Yanez’s favoritism.
