NMSU's McDermott leaving

Looks like NMSU backup quarterback J.J. McDermott is leaving the football program. Possible destination? Southern Methodist and head coach June Jones,

I dont get the move, he would only have 1 year left if he leaves. If the only way to keep him here was to keep mumme than the only thing I can say is good luck JJ. I think Coach Walker knew this was coming, it had been rumored since mumme's firing that he could possibly leave. But with an O Coordinator who played the position in the NFL, I dont understand why he would want to leave.

I don't get it either, but JJ will have 2 years. 1 r.s. which he didn't use and 2 to play. I don't think J.j. fit the new system. Bring in a Q.B. that can move a little, and be a run/pass threat is what I expect.

He sucked anyway! His arm wasn't that great, he was slow, good bye McDermott!

Tough to move around when your flat footed.
Good luck at SMU!
