Peppers Pride retires

After 19 straight wins, New Mexico's pride of the racetrack, Peppers Pride has retired. The 6-year-old Mare holds the American record for consecutive victories. The Joel Marr trained horse will be going to Kentucky and will be bred to the stallion Tiznow.

It would have been great for Peppers Pride to run for another year. She would have been productive and could have easily extended her win streak. Plus, her racing would have been a positive in a sport that lacks enough of them.

She was a great race horse and she answered all the challenges that were given to her. New Mexico has produced some really good horses, particularly in the past few years and Peppers Pride was certainly at the top of the list. She didn't always win by a large amount, but she always won because she was determined and simply loved to compete.
