Mumme gets job at McMurry

Former New Mexico State head coach Hal Mumme has landed a head coaching job at Division III McMurry University in Abilene, Texas.

It's a good fit for Mumme, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year. Mumme said his health is improving and he's ready to take a shot at coaching again.

The McMurry program has been flat out horrible the past several years with three zero win campaigns in the past nine seasons.

Mumme will try and pump life into a program, much like he tried to here at NMSU. He said with the late hire, he is behind on recruiting and spring practice. He said the team will try to get in a few practice this spring.

Well, he did go undefeated against 1AA schools while at NMSU...that's the only positive, I think.

As long as McMurray doesn't have any Muslim players and doesn't care to play defense, and don't mind him alienating the community, everything shoud be just fine.

The Air Raid is coming to Abilene, LOL!!
