Barring any crazy circumstances, DeWayne Walker will likely be the new coach at NMSU, replacing Hal Mumme.
A source told me Monday night that Walker called Louisiana State University and told the staff there he was no longer interested in the defensive coordinator spot.
A decision or announcement on Walker is expected Tuesday.

This makes sense, LSU just hired Tenessee's old D Cordinator.
Coach Walker is our man! We need him to bring toughness to both sides of the ball...especially the "soft" offense!
