NMSU football of note

Depending on what the new New Mexico State head football coaches does in terms of retention of assistant coaches, the future of New Mexico High School football players will be interesting.

Word from a couple of sources makes me believe that if part of Hal Mumme's staff is kept, offers to Las Cruces High Dante Caro and Mayfield's Matt Flores could be forthcoming.

Caro plays quarterback at LCHS, but is considered a defensive back or wide receiver prospect. Flores played tight end and on the defensive line for MHS and has good size at 6-4, 240.

Personally, I would like to see Rio Mares and James Hall in NMSU uniforms. I think the goal should be to increase teh number of three star athletes recruited, not the ones who get two stars put by their name after they signed.
