NMSU interested in LCHS' Mike Bernal?

Word on the street is that New Mexico State is showing interest in Las Cruces High football player Mike Bernal, at least in terms of a walk-on spot.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Bernal had a very good game on defense as a defensive end in the Class 5A state title game against Eldorado, which LCHS won 26-21.

Bernal had double-digit sacks this year and also played a significant role on offense at receiver.

Give him a schollie Coach Wilson!
The Aggies should at least offer a couple kids a year from the area.

UNM has made a good living (going to recent bowl games) recruiting 5-10 NM kids every year.
That Fredd Young Jr. had to accept a UNM scholarship is disgraceful...
